Little White Flowers
There were a couple flowers that outlasted the rest in the bouquet they came with. I love the way they looked sitting on my kitchen table in the morning light.

“Eat Food. Not too much. Mostly plants.”
–Michael Pollan
This last event was quite a treat for me. The Department of Surgery at UCSF hosted the 13th annual Maurice Galante Lecture with Michael Pollan as the keynote speaker.
For the past couple of years I guess I have become somewhat of a foodie (what can I say…I live in San Francisco). I didn’t use to think about where my food came from, what was in it, or if it should actually qualify as food. The Omnivore’s Dilemma changed that. It didn’t happen overnight, but in small increments. What started out as one small change turned into new way of life. To put it simply, I have a new awareness about the food that I eat.
