The photography for our wedding was extremely important to us and we spent a lot of time researching Bay Area wedding photographers before landing on Carmen. I work with many photographers in my line of work, being a graphic designer, and Carmen's portfolio really stood out to me in the beautiful ways she captured the full feeling and emotion of the wedding day. After several emails and correspondences with photographers, we went with Carmen because her photographic vision not only aligns with what I was looking for, but also she had a very calm and nice energy.

On our wedding day, Carmen was on time and was able to calm me down throughout stressful times of the day. She didn't need much direction and took charge (but wasn't pushy whatsoever) in capturing candid moments throughout the day.

There were some areas where we took pictures that were questionable, but once Carmen showed me the image from her camera, the area was transformed into something so beautiful. Carmen has an amazing eye and knows what is best. She really captures the essence of the light and environment around her.

Carmen photographed our wedding on August 2nd in Napa and was AMAZING. I searched long and hard for a photographer with Carmen's style of photography in a reasonable price range and with good reviews, and was thrilled when I found Carmen. Her sweet and easygoing personality was a bonus. We purchased her "Classic Package" and had 9 hours of coverage with two photographers and 600 beautifully edited photos (although she ended up sending us more than that in the end). A few weeks before the wedding she joined me for a walkthrough of the venue where she scoped out areas where we could take bridal party photos. She also had the idea to take sunset photos, which I'm so glad we did because those are my favorite of the bunch! They are truly beautiful. She also has great attention to detail -- when taking photographs with guests she always asked them to take their sunglasses off. Our guests would often place their purses and sweaters, etc. on the ground before we took a photo and her assistant would move them out of the way. She was a true joy to work with and I can't recommend her enough!

She's super easy to communicate with, professional, laid back, and totally gets how weird the whole "having a photoshoot for your wedding" thing feels for normal people who aren't professional members of the Wedding Industrial Complex. People say that you should choose your photographer(s) carefully because you have to spend so much time with them. I think that's true but it's also overstating it a bit -- I felt like Carmen and her second shooter were not that big of a part of the day as I experienced it -- yet she still managed to do a great job capturing the event. Her second shooter (forgot her name) was also great, mellow, and discreet.

We came to Carmen initially because I loved her work at my friend Bright's wedding. So no surprise, her pictures for our wedding came out beautifully and we received lots of compliments. The pictures were exactly what we wanted and I've been totally entranced every time I look at them. One thing Carmen's particularly good at compared to other wedding photographers' work that I've seen is photographing the overall event, especially the guests: in the moment, looking great and having fun. I really love our portraits, especially our first look photos. And she does all the Pinterest-y required photos, like the bride looking down at the bouquet, closeups of your table settings, yada yada.

I highly recommend Carmen! Compared to some other photographers I considered, she's also a great value, so you totally don't have to blow your wedding budget on photography.

She was so flexible with us throughout the whole process. For engagement photos, she was great about keeping us calm, making us laugh and be ourselves. She didn't stress about time because she wanted us to be happy.

Carmen is great! Our pictures came out BEAUTIFUL. Her attention to detail is great. She had worked at our venue before and still managed to get shots that were unique to our wedding style. There was a little hiccup on our wedding day in regards to the timeline but Carmen worked around it wonderfully. She met us 1/2 way between SF (where her office is) and our house in Mountain View, which was already a lot more then other photographers would do.

She was a bit shy at first, but we could tell that she was very passionate about photography and she was open to our suggestions and feedback. We felt like Carmen was at the beginning of a very successful career and we wanted to go with someone who was enthusiastic and had a lot of potential, rather than someone well known with a big ego.

The day of the wedding Carmen was great. Her assistant took photos of the groom and groomsmen and one location and Carmen came over to the house we were getting ready at. Once we got to the wedding venue she already had scoped out where she wanted to photograph us and helped to keep me on schedule. At one point I was hungry and feeling a bit ill and her assistant got me some snacks- which was really sweet and way beyond her scope of work. Carmen was calm and friendly and worked seamlessly with the other vendors and our large wedding party.

When we got the photos back we were in awe how she managed to capture so many special and fun moments of the evening. She not only took photos of us, but took so many great photos of our guests. It was like we could experience the event from their point of view.

Our friends and family love the photos. Carmen was able to capture the beautiful lighting and surroundings. One of my friends even said the lighting looked so perfect it was like we were in the movies. Thank you so much Carmen for capturing this most special day and all of our crazy friends and family.

Carmen was also a steal! She provided better customer service then those who charge twice the amount and her pictures are of equal quality. We will be recommending Carmen to all of our friends and will use her in the future for other special occasions.

Where do I even start...Carmen was beyond fantastic when we hired her as our wedding photographer. Our main concern when looking for a photographer was that they would feel comfortable shooting a lesbian wedding (so that we in turn would feel comfortable in front of the camera). Carmen immediately put us at ease and was very friendly and responsive over email. She stayed in touch with us periodically during the time leading up to the wedding and reminded us whenever we needed to send her something (like the list of portraits we wanted). On the day of the wedding both Carmen and her assistant took so many great pictures, but never seemed to be very noticeable. It was great! She even took the time before the ceremony to scout out a few areas that had good light and made for excellent backdrops. Carmen has a great eye and captured so many wonderful expressions and candid moments that, going back through the photos again, retell the day perfectly as I remember it. During the wedding we hardly knew that she and her team were there. We were married last month in San Francisco and the compliments from guests keep coming in on her work.

Professionally, Carmen was great to work. She made us feel really comforatable and listened to what was important to us - we interviewed several photographers before going with Carmen and I was surprised at how many took the opportunity to flood us with their pictures (and often cheesy musical accompaniment that comes along with), but not really listen to what we want.
